🚂 Are you in Nashville on the 27th?

2026-08-14

Hey hello what’s up happy Friday!!!

It’s been a minute. A few things to let y’all know about:

1 - We’ll be at Mountain Grass Unit’s album release show at Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville on August 27! Join us, or at the very least check out Morganne Allen’s beautiful art on the Instagram post. They invited us to post up at a table and debut a new zine. That’s a big deal for us, and we’re stoked!!! There’s still tickets online. If you’ll be there, please let me know, we’d love to say what’s up and give you an advance copy of the new issue.

2 - If you ordered the Jarrod Walker issue more than two weeks ago and it hasn’t showed up yet, please let me know. We’re a bit delayed on shipping as of the last two weeks because of summer travel and working on this new issue, but we’ll get those new orders out early next week.

3 - We’ll be sending out a survey about the zine to all of you next week. Please do that, it helps us understand what you’re digging and how to shape future issues.

4 - We’ll be opening up merchandise early next week, as well. It’s going to be a smaller store with a few favorites. (If you're still waiting on an order from the last store, thank you for your patience. If you're new here, we operate four pop-up stores a year. We take pre-orders, close it down, and then open it again when a new issue comes out. We only sell to people who get the zine, so it’s more of a perk of subscribing rather than something anyone can buy online.)

5 - My new philosophy with email is to be a little less random with it and send one higher-quality email a month. I'm going to experiment with my first round of that next week, so you'll hear from me twice: (1) the link to the survey and the store and (2) a longer email with a special guest playlist and things like that. My thought is we do it once a month for a high-quality piece of internet media between your quarterly of print media. Those of you really paying attention, this effort is gonna replace the energy behind the radio show I was thinking of doing, which I realized would be way too demanding. Something like that I think is only possible if this is my full-time job! We’re a long ways from that.

6 - I have been negligent about posting quality content on the Train Songz Instagram because I've been getting my freelance business up to speed after that insaneo full-time job I had the last year, but I finally feel like I'm in a good place and I'm hoping to get back to memery next week. It’s been a while, and it’s a great way to have fun and find new subscribers, but I’ve designed Train Songz such that social media is of secondary importance to my one true love: print! Thank you for making that possible by supporting what we do.

Have a great weekend and a lovely last few weeks of August.

–The Conductor
