Hey, hey, hey!
A few quick Train Songz things to kick off your week…

As the print ad above suggests, our concert with the Asheville Mountain Boys at the Grey Eagle on February 12 is a month away! It’s on the Thursday in Asheville between Billy’s shows on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Tickets here. This will be the Asheville Mountain Boy’s debut album release show, as well as the first place our first issue of 2026 (#9!) appears in the wild. We’ll also have IRL-only merchandise and copies of all back issues available for purchase. As always, firm handshakes for all zine subscribers. We hope to see you there!
We’re officially taking sponsors to fill our spots in our next issue. If your own business would like to partner with us — or if you know one that might be a good fit — get in touch by replying to this email!
If you head to zine.trainsongz.net, you’ll see that our new pricing is live. If you are currently subscribed and want to (1) pay this month and then not renew until next January and (2) update your pricing to one of the below, you can do so here. Totally optional!
As promised, the below will be our pricing recommendations so long as we’re publishing four issues per year. We feel good about this. Read our financial report to understand why!

If you’re keen on casual, not-worthy-of-print writing with some links to enjoy a few times a month, sign up for Smokestack. This email newsletter you’re reading is only for information about the Train Songz zine. If you want “blog-ish” content, see you on Smokestack. One day I plan on taking our entire Instagram feed offline on there, so you can check in without logging in. Hell yeah, brother.
Just posted one, and check out the archives.
If you purchased a copy of #8 before Christmas, it’s high time that sh*t arrived. Don’t have it yet? Respond to this email with your mailing address, and I’ll send you a new one. C’est la USPS.
More people than usual have been reaching out about this, which is fantastic! We have reprints of back issues available via mail-in order for $10 cash per issue. Check issues 6, 7, or 8 for instructions on where to mail!
I will email zine subscribers on Friday a link to our merchandise store, where we’ll be selling a few extras from last year that we won’t be reprinting this year: tees, long sleeves, sweatshirts, and a few hats. All sold at $10 markup.
