🚂 Ending the year with Train Songz

2025-12-02

Hello there, beloved Train Songz email list!

I wanted to send a little update with what to expect from us between now and the end of the year, because I think the next time y’all hear from me might be for the release of issue #8 next Friday.

But first, if you want to hop off this print media I encourage you to unsubscribe from our email list. There’s a button at the bottom of the email to do that! I find the Black Friday, Cyber Monday, etc. time of year a great time to unsubscribe from all lists I don’t want to be on. How did a coffee shop I went to one time in 2023 get my email?!

Okay now into The Stuff:

  1. Our next issue, our eighth of all time and last of the year, is coming out on Friday, December 12. It will also be ready to ship very close to that date, unlike last time!!! (Sorry!!!) Subscribers, please let me know if your address has changed by responding to this email.

  2. To help celebrate the release of #8, we are hosting a show in Austin with our friends Valley Flower on that same “release day” Friday at 8 PM at Sam’s Town Point. Tickets are $15 and all proceeds go to the band and the venue. Promontory Paul and I will be slinging hot-off-the-press zines and doling out firm handshakes to zine subscribers. Hope to see you there, and let me know where I should eat while I’m in town. (Not sure if we’re going to the Billy shows yet, but if you know a guy who knows a guy about an ACL Live ticket, give me a holler.)

  3. As usual with each zine, we’ll open up our merchandise store for a few weeks of pre-orders a few weeks after the issue ships out. If you have any ideas of what you’d like to see more of out of our merchandise, please do let me know! We only want to have a few items per store to keep things focused and high quality.

  4. Before the end of the year, we’ll send our annual financial report. 1,136 subscribers spend an average of $45 per year on four print fanzines delivered to their mailbox, and I want to show you how we use almost every drop of that money on contributor fees, printing, postage, and all the other costs associated with accidentally running a small business. I’m learning.

  5. Speaking of money, subscription will renew on the date that you subscribed in 2025, not on January 1. If you’d like to view your payment renewal date or cancel your subscription, you can log in at zine.trainsongz.net (or just send me an email and I’ll help you figure it out). If you forget, you can cancel at any point for a full refund for the year. I am not out to get you.

  6. If you aren’t yet subscribed but would like to, you can do so here to lock in those 2025 prices forever. We may increase prices a few bucks per issue next year — and I really mean a few like less than $5 — but any 2025 subscriber will have their price honored and not be subject to that increase. Something to think about!

Xoxo,

The Conductor
