Helllloooooo there!
This year has been a doozy. The primary source of that doozification is, thankfully, behind me. Opening up the shop had been lagging on the to-do list… but no more! We’re open!
Check ‘er out: shop.trainsongz.net
Store will close on Friday, June 26
Most stuff is a pre-order, so expect delivery in the second half of July since production will start in the end of June
If you’re getting this email it means you are (1) an active Train Songz subscriber or (2) got a solo copy of our most recent issue.
Merchandise isn’t our main business, and we don’t sell it on Instagram. I think of it more as a perk for subscribing, and I make it somewhat hard to get so that if you see someone in the wild in Train Songz, there’s a 99% chance they are also a niche print media appreciator. Say hey!
For that reason I also do my best to keep our prices reasonable, everything is priced such that we’re making about $5–15 per item. Everything we sell is high quality, at least by my standards. (I don’t like thin t-shirts, for example.) We also pay artists we like to design things, as well as print and embroider via businesses in the United States owned by friends of the zine we’ve met through the music, to keep as much money in our ecosystem as possible.
I’m working on adding a password to the store and printing that password in the zine, but for now it’s just an honor system with this email list…
Thank you as always for your support, and please holler if you haven’t gotten “Train of Fools” in your mailbox yet!
We started printing issue #10 today! We won’t release it until the end of June, but it will be debuting at Telluride Bluegrass Festival, where Promontory Paul and I will be attending on a press pass (!!!)
Remember, as a subscriber, you can send a free copy of Train Songz #9 “Train of Fools” to a friend here!
