Hello there!!
It’s your friendly neighborhood print media dealer writing to let you know that Train Songz #9, our first issue of our third year, is around the corner. Respond to this email and let me know if you’ll be attending any shows or festivals in April and May you’d like to pass zines out at.
To make sure you receive your zine, please do two things:
Address: Log in at zine.trainsongz.net and confirm your shipping address is accurate
Payment: Log into our Stripe portal and confirm your subscription is active and card is up to date
Your subscription will renew for the same amount it did in 2025 on the same day you signed up in 2025. If you’d like to increase your support to our recommended $55 per year ($13.75 per issue) I can do that for you, just respond let me know. I can also switch you to $33 or $77, or I can cancel your subscription if you’d like to hop off.
If you’d like to sign up to get all issues of 2025, you can do so for $33, $55, or $77 at the zine dot trainsongz dot net link above. If you don’t want a subscription, you’ll also be able to purchase an individual issue when #9 comes out.
If you’d like to apply for a free copy, as we give out one for every 10 sold and run on the honor system no questions asked, you’ll need to fill out the free issue form when #9 is released. Each free copy is a new form; we don’t run a free subscription, so just because you got a free one last time doesn’t mean you’re automatically signed up this time.
I appreciate the hell out of all of you for allowing us to make our niche print media dream bigger and bigger with each issue, and if you have any questions I’m here to help. I appreciate your patience, as I’m a customer support team of one.
We are (mostly) laser-focused on the zine . There’s a thousand new things we could do, but I really just want to keep it simple and put as much as we can into our four issues this year.
Festivals have been reaching out to ask for our help making their crowds a little younger. I am chatting with them and figuring out how Train Songz can support. That’s been cool — I hope we can help them out, and it would be nice to make some legitimate advertising revenue in return. I also think we’ll try and attend IBMA to get our little mag in front of the Powers That Be. We won’t rest until we’re Bluegrass State Media.
The one new thing I’m going to pursue this year is internet radio. I’d love to put together something you want to listen to on your morning commute, while you’re working, etc. The idea is it would be 90% music and 10% bits between songs. I’d also like to have a Twitch-style live chat while the show is live that I can interact with and take requests. I’d also like people to be able to dial in. I’ve been looking to an answer for what the Train Songz water cooler could look like for some time, and I think this might be the answer. This won’t have a video component, nor will it be a podcast. This is music-driven radio programming.
If I can accomplish all of the above, we’ll have had a great year. I might even find the cajones to take one less freelance client and give The Conductor some daylight hours.
