Hello there, zine subscribers!
First, as always, thank you for your annual support. It’s a dream come true to be able to continue investing in this thing, and we’re hard at work to use the opportunity of having real funding for Train Songz to build this into something that we hope will last a long time. Working on #7 today!
Speaking of zines, if you’re going to St. Louis or Lexington shows and would like to volunteer to hand out zines, please fill this out and I’ll be in touch.
As we prepare for July’s issue, I want to remind you of a few ways to get involved.
First is texting missed connections and funny things you overheard at a show to the Train Songz Anonymous Hotline: (405) 225-6629. Go ahead and save that in your phone (“The Conductor” or “Train Songz” works just fine as a contact name) for whenever inspiration strikes. Your submission made the “SPYTRAIN” section in the last issue possible, and we hope to keep doing it.

Second is
Second is sponsoring the zine via a classified ad, which can run either $50 or $100 depending on how much space you get. Thankfully, we’re already sold out of the 12 bigger sponsor slots for this issue, but some people have asked for a lower-cost way to get involved via sponsorship…this is it!
If you’d be interested, please reach out.
As a reminder, we need sponsorships at this point to keep the operation afloat. We would be losing money on each issue without them. (We’re all trying to find the guy who did this.) I’ve never accidentally ran a business before, and as I’m learning how to budget and resource Train Songz, sponsorship money has been a very helpful cushion to have. My goal is always going to be to have fewer high-quality sponsors that are meaningful to our audience, e.g. a subscriber who owns a small business. Thank you to our sponsors!
Lastly, we’re working on “Train Songz 1K” merchandise for the first 1,000 subscribers. Here is a prototype of a hat… Let me know if you dig it?
We’re also thinking of making a golf polo and a t-shirt. Any other requests? Speak now or forever hold your peace. (We will have stickers, but not for sale. We’ll include them with all 1K merchandise orders and also in #7 envelopes.)
