🚂 HOUSEKEEPING, PLS READ

Open sesame

Helloooooo!

Week two of more time on my hands. To be clear: I’m still working 30–40 hours per week, but in a period of my life where my cat is my only dependent and I’m working from home, I can totally manage Train Songz with that workload. That’s the environment I started this thing in, but I got out of it for about the last year on a whacky professional side quest. Back in the Shire.

As I’m putting more time back into Train Songz, I wanted to write this list with a few housekeeping items for you to take care of:

Are you interested in more writing, music recs, etc?

This email list is for updates related to the Train Songz quarterly fanzine. If you want more informal and casual writing, please sign up for my blog, Smokestack.

I will be using Smokestack a lot more in the coming weeks as I dedicate more time to writing and sharing and all that, while keeping emails to this list purely related to zine updates.

Do you want the latest issue of the zine?

It’s available for $10–20 sliding scale, free if it’s not a good time to buy, or you can even subscribe for the year at zine.trainsongz.net.

Are you interested in purchasing Train Songz merchandise?

I emailed a link out to subscribers and those who got issue #9 last Friday. If you didn’t get that email and think you should have, email me back!

Subscribers, please check your mailing address :)

Log in at zine.trainsongz.net and you can now check your address on file and update it if you need to do that!

Thank you to Jonseey, our locomotive engineer, who created a system from scratch for us to deal with online orders, sliding-scale payments, and physical address management! He basically made Substack for physical mail.

“Is my subscription still active?”

Email me back and I’m happy to check for you!

Are you no longer interested in my emails? Unsubscribe!

Unsubscribe at the link on the bottom of this email!

Coming up next!!! Promontory Paul and I will be at Telluride Bluegrass Festival from Wednesday to Sunday. We will have with us 250 copies of our next issue, #10. If you’ll be there too and want a copy, stay on the lookout — you’ll know us when you see us, you’ll feel it in your heart. We’ll also be walking around to strangers with a clipboard and a dream, collecting addresses of future readers. Coming out of Telluride, we’re hoping to have some multimedia footage with a hand-me-down camera from 2005 and camcorder from 1999. We don’t want too many megapixels. That’s sinful.
